New W7P x64 Deployed as P2P Server - issue starting Office Apps

New W7P x64 machine replacing XP Pro SP3 32bit machine as PEER server in small Network (12 PC's) mixture of XP and W7 machines

All machines running Office 2K3 Pro

    Issue:

All machines have MDB, XLS, and DOC files on the PEER Server some with Shortcuts ... W7 machines automatically load the appropriate Office App ... XP machines no longer load the Office App. I have to open the Office App then load the office file.

    I have tried:
    - creating new shortcuts
    - lauching the apps directly off the mapped peer drive
    - redoing the app association

nothing appears to work ... No error message is received when attempting to lauch a office file ... the system doesn't even load the Office App

You have exceeded the limits of a Peer-To-Peer network. You will need to upgrade the server to a true Windows server OS to share with more that 10 computers at the same time.

NOTE: Windows 7 has a 10 concurrent user limit on connections to a shared folder.
