    OneNote lag

    Hi all.

I've been introducing more and more data into a table in OneNote (2010 Professional) and it's starting to lag something terrible.

I used to have my data in another program, TreeDBNotes, but that was super slow and laggy so I started to change over to OneNote, but now that seems to be lagging up too.

The table is 13 columns wide and currently at 1500 rows. I've Googled "OneNote lag" - it seems to be a thing, but there's not much out there for a solution.

Access seems to be ok, but I want to have thumbnails of photos and hyperlinks so I chose OneNote. I also investigated various other tree database type programs but none were suitable for me and my needs.

    Any suggestions please? Thnx

It could be due to a lack of RAM as your specs show you have 4Gb of RAM & are using Windows 7 x64. This amount of RAM is adequate for normal computer use but when you start to use large database files it can slow down your computer.
Perhaps you could try increasing the size of your Page file which may help.

Thank you for the reply. In task manager it shows the cpu usage spiking up to 40% when over 5% is abnormal according to a M$ tech guru on an Office forum. I'll try the page file and test, though this happens on this laptop and a win8.1 HP pavilion (also with 4gb ram)

Ill use Excel - it's fast and reliable, I'll go without the thumbnails and attachments and put in hyperlinks.

    thanks
