Outlook 2010 Installation

I recently removed my laptop from my work domain to connect with my wife's laptop and server on a home workgroup here at home. I did not realize all of the problems this would cause. I set up a new user on my laptop and I have joined her work group, but I lost access to my old user. I have moved most everything now to the new user, photos, my docs, songs, etc.

I attempted to open Outlook 2010 with the new user and found that it went through a new install procedure. I tried using my comcast account as the initial account to start with, but it would not load. I then tried using the original domain. It did not load, and now I am stuck. When I try to start Outlook, it pops up a box with the domain.remote and my log in name. It asks to search for the name, but it will not complete the task and shuts down. How can I go back to square one and start again? I tried uninstalling from my new user name and reinstalling, but that was unsuccessful.

In addition you can uninstall Office in Control Panel>Programs and Features and reinstall it using the disk and Product Key which came when you purchased it. If you purchased a download, go back to the source to download it again and find the key in the email which you should have saved as receipt for an expensive purchase, or audit the Product Key using Belarc Advisor.

I could not log into the old user name on entry to Windows after dropping out of the domain, so I could not just change to the work group.

I am beyond that now anyway. I uninstalled and re-installed Office 2010, but I still can't log in.
The following is the sequence of events when trying to open Outlook. Do I need to do something in the registry?

1. Log in attempt.

2. No connection screen.

3. Looking for name on server.

4. Shutdown script.

What type of server is this? Is it a home network where you're only needing to share files with your wife? If so you shouldn't need to sign in to any other than your Win7 password if you really need one, then open Office like any other program and use it. Store your files in Documents and share them with your Wife's PC. For this it is easiest to use Homegroup but you can also use Network.

I'm now all set up for sharing. I am having problems re-installing and opening outlook 2010.

I'm not following you then because when are you asked to sign into Office?

I apologize. I am trying to install Microsoft Outlook 2010. I have installed the Office 2010 and everything else works fine except for Outlook which I had been using with another user name and attached to a domain. Canceling the domain created lots of problems.
