Cannot run office in safe mode - cannot verify license

I have had this computer for 18 months running Win 7 Pro with Office 2010.
When I boot to safe mode, and try to run any of the office products, I get the message "Microsoft Office cannot verify the license for this application. A repair attempt failed or was canceled by the user. The application will now shut down." How do clear this problem?

Try a repair Install, from the office disk and re-input your serial number :)

Have a look at this MS website as well.

Quote: Office 2010 applications won’t run in Windows Safe Mode, because ‘Office Software Protection Platform’ service won’t run in Windows safe mode, which is required for Office applications to start.

I have experienced similar issues with a couple of other programs where if used in Safe Mode I get a "Licence Expired" message. Boot normally and they work fine.

Already tried the re-install. No luck there.

Yet another quality software offering from Microsoft. FAIL!

    Thanks.

    PS
Yeah, it's dumb you cannot comment on the ENTIRE office suite, you have to pick one at a time. OMFG.
