Microsft office 2013 word hangs when opening

    Hi,

I need your help and i am definately puzzled with the problem I am facing. Shortly after I installed a new samsung SSD 240 pro on my laptop and reinstall all the operating system and programs, Microsoft office started presenting a very-very strange behaviour. I cant remember if this happened exactly after my new ssd installation, but i reckon it would not have been more than 2-3 weeks after that.

The problem is this. Sometimes office 2013 hangs - freezes while opening a specific excel file. (This file I use it very frequently during everyday's work). Other times it opens the file, but when i minimize the file and then try to maximize it again, it freezes then. Other times, it works normally until I shutdown the file. The same started happening with the word 2013. Initially there problem with the excel. But shortly after , word 2013 began to freeze when trying to open any word file. Now, it doesn't open at all, except in safe mode (winword /safe). I have tried uninstall and reinstall office 2013, I have disabled add ins, I have tried to fix normal.dtm (I have deleted it) but nothing can fix the problem. On a post I had read that it may be caused by the file validation program. I tried to find it, according to the instructions, but could not locate it.

All excel and word 2013 files that present this behaviour, work perfectly on my dekstop on office 2013...All other programs and apps work perfectly on my laptop..

Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can hardly perform my daily work, due to this !$#!$# problem!

You could try repairing Office, to do that open Control Panel, select Programs & Features, scroll down to Microsoft Office, right click on it & select Change, this will open a couple of repair options to try.

Have you got your office up to date. To do that open any Office program & select File, then select Office Account & there you will see a box with Office Updates, click on that & select Update Now.

You mention that you have Office on both your laptop & desktop computers. Does your version of Office allow for multiple installs. Some versions of Office only allow it to be installed on one computer & if that is the case then this could be the cause of your problem.
