continuing failure to install of MS OneNote update

Update for Microsoft OneNote 2010 (KB2597088) 32-Bit Edition Installation date: ‎12/‎22/‎2014 9:37 AM. Installation status: Failed. Error details: Code 80070658. Update type: Important

This update has failed 75+ times over the past 3+ weeks.. Both auto-update and a couple of attempts at manual update have failed.
I have Win7 64 bit and MS Office 2010 installed. Twelve other 32 bit updates have installed successfully The OneNote failures began.last month. Other MS updates installed just fine but this KB2597088 continues to fail.
MS Fix it does not fix it.

    Any ideas?

There is some information in this MS website that might help you. You could try uninstalling the update from your computer & then download the update from this website where is shows a link & install it.

My bad luck continued with the Office 2010 OneNote update. It seemed like an omen and a good opportunity to
upgrade to Office 2013. I found a copy of 2013 Professional that I could buy rather than subscribe to.

I tried to uninstall 2010 but the built-in uninstaller failed to do the job- 3 times. I had to resort to
Revo Uninstaller to get rid of Office 2010.

Office 2013 is now up and running but the irritating OneNote 2010 update will not go away- even though
Office 2010 is no longer in my computer.

    Any ideas?
