Outlook encryption

I heard that Outlook encryption is possible to break. I have an old .pst file secured with "compressible encryption" and I can't remember the password. I think it was a fairly weak password. Is there a way to open it?

Yesterday Win7 asked me to backup the Encryption Key. The funny thing here is that Ive never selected to encrypt files. So the question is: Does windows encrypt files without my authorization or its just a reminder just in case I really had some encrypted files? Thanks!
