Outlook 2010: can't smooth scroll in reading pane

    Hi,

I'm using an Acer Windows 7 machine with MS Outlook 2010.

When I left-click and hold on the scroll bar of the reading pane
when viewing a long email, and move the mouse/scroll bar
up/down, the email doesn't scroll up/down with me as I move
the scroll bar. When I release the mouse, then the email moves
to the new position of the scroll bar.

How can I get Outlook 2010 to smoothly scroll, like it does every-
    where else?

    Many thanks,
    John

In Mouse settings be sure ClickLock is turned Off/unchecked.

Outlook 2010: can't smooth scroll in reading pane

    Hi,

    Thank you for suggesting something.

Scroll lock ... is off ... and has been off all along.

    Any other suggestions?

You could try disabling Hardware Graphics Acceleration. To do that select File, then Options, then Advanced & scroll down & tick Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration. Exit from there, close Outlook & reopen it & see if that makes any difference.

    @ Ranger4 :

    Thank you for your suggestion.

However, I can't find "Hardware Graphics Acceleration"
    anywhere in Outlook 2010 > File > Options > Advanced !

    See these screenshots:

Am I in the right place?

    What did I miss?

You seem to be in the right place, but I have made an error.

My apologies, as outlook 2013 has Hardware Graphics Acceleration I thought Outlook 2010 would as well. Sorry to cause you any problems.
