    Word Doc issue?

    Hi there,

I have a MS Word doc when I click to open it 2 Word pages open up, a blank and one that has text.

Happens only with this particular doc, not with the rest, any ideas why and how to fix it?

    Thanks.

You did not say what version of MS Word you are using.

Try selecting View > One page.

...or maybe I'm not understanding the problem.

You might also want to temporarily show paragraph marks...

...to let you see what might be there on that blank page.

    Thanks for your reply.

    It's MS Office 2007.

Tried but still the same. It happens once only when this particular Word doc. is clicked to open, not if its closed and reopened in a session. Doesn't happen with other Word docs.

A blank Word page behind that Word doc.

Open Word via the Start menu (not by double clicking on a doc file).

Open another instance of Word via the Start menu.

In that second instance, open the problematic document via the File > Open method.

Copy the contents of the problematic document and paste it into the first instance of Word.

Exit the second instance of Word.

Save/exit the first instance of Word.

Restart your computer and double click on the newly saved document.

    Problem solved?

Let me be sure that I understand the situation:

You double-click on this problematic doc and it opens two instances of Word.
    Is that correct?

Does Task Manager show two instances of Word running?

If you both Word windows, does Task Manager show no instances of Word running? (e.g. is one copy not exiting RAM, but shows not window?)

You mentioned that it happens only once per session. Does that mean once per log on session?

    Correct, yes two instances.

Correct but at times more than once per log in session.

    Thanks again.
