Can't open file in Word 2007

Hello, Once again I need some help and I know who to go to. I need to open a document file in word 2007 that created about 5 days ago. I just opened the file about 3 days ago without a problem. Today I needed to open it up again and got an error message "The Directory name is not valid" and the link underneath (c:\users\...MxxxxRxxx 20516.docx).
I need to open this file and edit it to attach to a job application. I was able to do it about 2 days ago.

What happen and how do I get it back?
Oh ya, I don't see the file in my documents list anywhere, where did it go?

    THanks, M. J Barr3

Apparently the file has been moved or deleted from the original directory. I would do a search of your users folder for the file MxxxxRxxx 20516.docx to see if it exists in any of the folders within your user folder.

Strollin, Thanx for your suggestion. Unfortunately I have already checked the c:\\user file and its not there. any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I will have to create the document from scratch again.

    Thanks

Rerun a broader search from Windows Explorer.

    1. Open Windows Explorer.
    2. Click on the "C:" drive in the left pane tree.
    3. In the Windows Explorer Search box type *20516.* then press Enter or click the search glass icon.

With luck you may find a backup version of the file. If so, COPY it to your desktop and rename the extension to .docx then try to open it.

    Regards,
