Unable to apply Default to the Real email account

On the new Windows 7 Pro computer with Office 10 I moved the folders and files from the old pc to this new pc.
The first act on the new computer was launching Outlook and creating the new account.
What is not working is this email account.
It is not listed (see screen shots) as email; it is listed as data file. I cannot delete that email account.
I then created the account again - this email account shows up in Email. Thus I have a working email account. But now I have two email account listed in Outlook.

In the data section I cannot delete the old email account - and I cannot set the new one as Default.
Default is grayed out under Email and under Data for the listing of the newly created email account.
That not working data email account is set to Default. I cannot change the Default. I cannot delete that 0000013 pst account.
    This message did appear....

The default data file cannot be removed because it is your default delivery location. After you have selected a different default delivery location your current file can be removed.

If nothing works can I delete all the files from apps/microsoft/outlook and attempt to create another new account?

However I can change 000013 pst default to another data file but then I get this message when I attempt to delete/remove 000013 pst:

You cannot delete this Outlook data file. Configuration inforation in the file is being copied to your new default data file.

Is there a strait forward fix on this? Thanks!

You need to set up a New Email account, as you don't have any email accounts showing in Account Settings. Click on the New... & follow through with the set up. You may need to contact your internet provider for help on setting it up.

Once you have the new email account up & running, set it as the default account. The new email account will also have its own data file, so do not delete it. You can delete the other data files if you no longer need them.

If you need to keep some data files you can select Open & Export & then select Import/Export & follow through as needed.

I apologize for the length and details.

I did create control panel/mail a new profile/account. However I was unable to make that account Default.
Here are the notes with captures.

These captures are from the email account that I am struggling with. Thereis one capture showing NK2edit unable to find ‘default’ email account. I cannotmake active , make the email account as Default.

I then created a new profile. Now I have to profiles for Brent both withthe same issues.

The default is ‘Outlook Data Files’ . It should be Brentetc@etc.com

The message states I need a different delivery location.

The Outlook Data File is located in the document folder. Ok. So I simplymove it into ../microsoft/outlook with the other pst files.

    “\Documents\Outlook Files\Outlook Data File - Brent.pst

I now have the Outlook Data File - Brent.pst moved from ../documents/outlook into ../microsoft/outlook

Outlook will not allow me to delete ‘Outlook Data File - Brent.pst’ becausenow it says I need to select a ‘different default delivery location’?

I am now simply looping with an issue dealing with default deliverylocation.

If I can get just the email account working in Outlook – then I can add theusual folders and files to complete this task.

    Thanks

Thus in the new profile I have two files in contest, so to speak.

Brenetcetc@etc.com.pst ( this should be the default email account)
    and this one:
Outlook Data File -Brent.pst (which is designated default )

If I delete Outlook Data File -Brent.pst Outlook will not open as Outlook says it needs the 'Default'
Outlook Data File -Brent.pst file to open.

Outlook should open using the actual email account, Brent's account.
And it is because I am unable to make Brent the default that the issue exists.

I have almost arrived at success. I ended up with a copy of the Brentaccount. In order to have one account I needed to remove it from …mail/email.However the tab/email is without the default account – that is listed inDatafiles.

When I open Outlook all is arranged perfect. The account and the foldersand files. If I go to …mail/e-mail tab and create the account in this tab Iwill end up again with a copy of the account.

How can I get the default Brent account to show up in mail/e-mail? If Iattempt to use NK2Edit that application indicates there is no ‘default emailaccount.’

Thus I need to set the ‘default email client account’ without in this action creating a duplicate, a copy.

I would suggest making a new Folder in your Documents section & call it Outlook Old. Then copy all the existing files in C:\Users\bzerger\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook. You should be able to find this under Users. Open Computer from the Start button & select local disc C: & finding Users.

When you have done that, delete all the files in the Outlook folder that were in your Users Outlook folder. You will have to do that with Outlook closed.
    Now open Outlook & set up a new email account that you normally use. This will give you completely fresh Outlook .pst & data files. Make sure this account is running the way it should. This email account will now be the Default one. If all is well you can then decide what you need from the old files that have been moved to your documents section. To do this;

Open Outlook, select File & then Open & Export, then Import/Export & follow through on importing old data into the Outlook Users folder. Do not copy any email addresses that are duplicates of the new one you have just set up.
