Outlook 2010 Latency Send / Receive

    Hi,

Having latency issue with Outlook 2010 running on Windows 7.
Email, both sent and received, can take between 10 minutes to several hours to be received by mail recipient or be received by me.
Full disclosure - my Outlook PST files are very large; probably need to reduce size.
Question is does bloated PST file size adversely affect performance of send / receive in Outlook.

Thank you in advance for your help and insight!

This MS website has a lot of information & there is reference to the maximum size of .ost & .pst files.

Not sure if it would help with performance but you could break up your email into separate archives.
