    Outlook and outlook.com

I have a couple of outlook.com email accounts, or aliases. They are set to forward all mail to my main ISP IMAP email account, which I access in Outlook 2010.
At some point it seems that I added outlook.com to my list of Outlook accounts. I don't really need it there, do I?
One effect seems to be that if I do a search in the computer for mail that I know has been kept, either in Outlook or in an Outlook archive, the message is shown next to the Outlook logo but can't be opened from the search.
I am hoping that if I remove outlook.com from the list of email accounts, this might be rectified.

I use Outlook 2013 & when Windows Live Mail became redundant MS requested that I switch the WLM account to Outlook.com which required setting up a new Profile in Outlook 2013. This was unsuitable so I deleted the WLM email address & profile & created a new one with my main ISP.

If you have had the same problem you might just need to delete the profile that you no longer want to use. Have a look in your Outlook email account settings & see what the Outlook.com account has associated with it. Just remember if you remove that email account you wont be able to receive any emails from anyone wishing to contact you using that email address.

But any mail would still go to outlook.com webmail, and that is set to forward all incoming mail to my main ISP email in Outlook. That's OK isn't it?

It should be, but does all the Outlook.com email from the Outlook.com web mail come through to you ISP provider & thence to your mail email account. If it does & you don't actually receive those emails directly through to your Outlook.com account, then you may as well delete it.
