    MS Office alternative/replacement (Non-Genuine issue)

While getting help for another issue on here I've been told my... "... copy of Office IS NON-GENUINE, its going to a server blocked by MS Please remove it." Now I have to find a replacement for it, and a way to read/convert all the files I made with it. I used MS Office because it came with the system. Can anyone tell me of good freeware/open source/otherware/etc replacements for MS Office that I can compare? Also how to effectively remove MS Office so it doesn't show up anywhere, especially the MGADiag report. Any further input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Very Truly Yours,
    Chris

This website might give you an alternative

    https://www.digitaltrends.com/comput...-alternatives/

If you are fully conversant with MS Office you will have to make some changes to the way you are accustomed to working, as there are some adjustments needed. Like you I was very familiar with Office & I used one of the free open source versions for a while but then ended up buying MS Office 2013 Pro as I needed MS Access.

If you really want to stay with MS Office you can get Office 365 on a subscription basis, which requires a monthly fee. Google MS Office & have a look at the MS offers on Office 365. Or you can buy the retail version of MS Office 2016, either in Standard or pro version, but they are expensive.

You should be able to convert all your existing Office files to work with later Office versions & most should work with open source software office programs as well.

Using the usual uninstall though Programs & Features should remove your existing Office. I saw you Thread in Windows Updates & Activation, on this Forum & your version of Office is 2007.

One point you need to keep in mind is, if you use MS Office Outlook for your emails, you may have problems with other open source office programs not having an email program, so you might have to look for another email program as well.

Libre Office is a good alternative to MS Office. It does a good (but not a perfect) job of converting MS Office files to Libre Office format, or of working entirely in MS Office format.

Another thing you might consider is MS Office Online. With MS Office Online, you have the real thing, not a pretty good alternative program. In other words, it works perfectly with your existing files. And it's totally free - no cost whatsoever. I've used it some, and it works surprisingly well. You'll need to get used to working in the cloud. But it isn't hard to move files back and forth between your hard drive and the cloud drive. If you want to check it out, go to the following web site:

If you want to remove MS Office from your computer, go to Control Panel / Programs and Features, and then uninstall it.
