I'm not seeing this like you: files that don't appear in the source folder are deleted from the destination folder during b/u.
But, accidental deletions or simply 'lost material' on the source folder is a primary reason to access the destination b/u.
I may not know I've lost a file until I go looking for it.
If I have done a back-up in the meantime, that material will have been deleted from the destination folder.
I can understand why someone who is regularly recording and deleting large amounts of data might not want the deleted stuff to be backed-up, or saved next time around, but an option to disable that function needs to be in place.
You choose to circumvent this issue by backing-up the back-up deletions - which works, but is a step to far in my case; disabling this delete feature makes more sense for me.
Unfortunately, these types of issue are what has discouraged me in the past and left me backing-up my entire data drive each time; there's apparently no "one size fits all" is there?
