Outlook 2016 pasted text turns to underlined green

Pasted text into a draft Outlook 2016 message (html) turns to underlined green - even when pasting without formatting (after saving).

This problem is evident either side of an online update to Office 2016 Pro [currently Version 1807 (Build 10325.20118 Click-to-Run)]. Win 7 Pro x64

Any suggestions to avoid this unwanted formatting would be much appreciated.

Did you change the formatting in options?

Is this what you are referring to?
When you paste, you can right click and you should get a few formatting options
Keep source formatting (default for CTRL+V)
Merge formatting (will take on the formatting in line with what you have)
    Text only.

Many thanks ... I usually copy into notepad to eliminate any formatting, then copy again and paste into the Outlook message, which then doesn't offer any pasting options.

Incidentally 'AutoFormat as you type' (in AutoCorrect): all boxes are unchecked.

You're most welcome. Does your workaround resolve the issue?

I've recently noticed that Outlook 2016 is changing parts of text in incoming messages to URLs (blue underlined text), e.g. a piece of text ends with 'print version 2006.pdf', and '2006.pdf' is in underlined blue text (URL http://2006.pdf/).

Thus the message is littered with meaningless URLs - it seems like a particularly witless automatic conversion.

Another example is '16-2-1692' which is converted to blue underlined text (URL tel:16-2-1692), and clicking on it launches Skype - which I don't use and can't uninstall.

Outlook 2016 is the culprit because the above examples of text are untouched when the same message is opened in Yahoo's webmail browser.

The problem seems to be associated with an inability to disable 'Track Changes' in Outlook 2016.

For Outlook 2016, there have been suggestions that it's controlled by Word 2016, but it's not in my case, and it is still unresolved.

The poster here can't see a reason for tracking changes in a draft Outlook message (nor can I):

    Hello Davexxx

That is correct, Track Changes is controlled by Word. To turn off Track Changes, you would need turn off this from within Word 2016.

An alternative suggestion would be to try turn off Inline Comments from Outlook 2016.

Another suggestion would be to change Font colour when Replying or forwarding messages in new HTML e-mail message.

See these threads for more help on those features:

Many thanks for the various suggestions - do you know how to do this with Word 2016, nothing I've traced so far also applies to Outlook 2016.

What I meant was, the formatting is done in Word prior to copying to the clipboard. There is no special Outlook 'feature' to turn on and off.

Compare what you are doing with the tutorial in this blog How to copy Track Changes and Comments markup from MS Word to Outlook. Because you are not seeing this/doing this, then I suggest that was not actually the problem you thought you encountered.

Have you also tried the suggestions I made in my earlier post?
