Word 2016 - Trust Center & maximum legacy access ?

A few days ago, I reset the Word 2016 Trust Center Settings (Win7 Pro) so that I could readily open, maybe save, earlier versions of Word documents (as far back as possible, at least 20 years, all created by myself).

    This then interfered with:

    a) Outlook 2016 - when closing after send an e-mail message, seeing the following error message:

    "Microsoft Outlook
You are attempting to save a file type (Word 2007 and later Documents and Templates) that has been blocked by your File Block settings in the Trust Center..."

    b) Firefox browser - after leaving certain web pages, I've seen the *same* Outlook error message as above, even though Outlook 2016 isn't running.

A temporary solution has been to return to the Word 2016 Trust Center default settings.

Does anyone know what the Office/Word 2016 Trust Center settings are for maximum Word legacy access, to avoid changes in the functionality of any other software ?

You may need to save the old Word documents in the new document format that MS introduced in Office 2010, I think it was.

So open the old Word document & then select Save As from the File Menu.
