why i do not have "encrypt this document with password in pdf options

Hi, using msword 2007. There are numerous article on using this option to save a word to pdf converted document in ms word 2007. The articles say, that i have to check mark this encrypt this document with password in the pdf file , in word options menu in save as dialogbox.
But i do not find that in my pdf options in the menu.
Is that a add on i have to download or is it not available in msoffice 2007 version. I know that it is available in ms word 2010.
But i doubt that it is also available in my version.
Experts , please say your solution and suggestions to how to do this

    Hi jraju-

I'm using Acrobat Reader 10 and Word 2007. When I want to save a file from Word as PDF, I just select File\Save As and change the default to PDF. No need to do anything with encryption. The only thing I can think of that would make encryption necessary (desireable?) is if a person is using encryption software on their system.

Hi, i wish to inform that i have downloaded the pdf xps add on from microsoft. What i want is ,save a word document as pdf with a password protection. But when i save this with a passoword , i get an alert that i cannot make it not open on adobe reader. If i proceed and save the document in pad using ms word 2007 and then open the same in adobe reader, the content is shown , as alerted when you save.
i do not mean pay version of adobe .
Elsewhere in the forums, i come across this encryption tab, but that is not found in my msword, thoug i have updated up to service pack 3 in the 2007 version.
Is it only available in 2010 version and not in 2007 version, in the pdf options menu, when you save as pdf with the drop down menu general.
i hope that now you understand , what i mean

The help file doesn't help a bit.

I can only protect a saved PDF to the point where it can be opened in Acrobat but not edited. If I save as a .docx with password protection, Word requires the password before it will open it.

This is normal. There was some confusion in a link that this feature is available for 2007 version. But it is not.Anyhow, please see this and download the software for free for home users.
it contains classical view of menu , which is very convenient to usse, rather than ribbonized one.
You just download and install , and Next to Home, you willl find a item Menu , and just click to use it. I found no menu that would do this sort of encryption as shown in the link below

Yeh, I don't have the option in shown in the last link.

I used the Encrypt File option in File\Prepare to encrypt a file. Then, I tried saving as a PDF without doing anything else. It said I would lose the password protection.
