what is correct method to restore pst files to Outlook in win7 ?

    Hi,
I copied pst files from the C drive address to a backup address., verified the backup.

Restored PC C drive to a backup made a few weeks ago,
used the outlook file route and found import option and pulled in the pst files, scary though as it asks where do I want the destination and I am pretty sure I chose the account the pst is for, trouble is I have two accounts, both same name non default is (1) suffix.

result I saw emails brought up to date but file size doubled for the pst file and address book is empty

close outlook, nuked the pst files and copy pasted them over instead, still address book empty, though now file size correct !

How should I bring in the pst files, why didnt my copy paste work ?

I could revert PC to yesterday and thus to current email status and start again doing the backup a different way if that would be of use ?

You mentioned 2 email accounts & they are the same, do you need these, if not they can be deleted. To copy the the .pst files & your address book follow this website.
