    Office 2010: Unsuccesfull install

I'm trying to install Office 2010 64 home that was on another laptop that died on a Win 10 pro 64 laptop.
These are the steps I did:
    - Ran setup.exe
    - Entered the key
    - Selected the options (Word, Excel. PPoint) and deselect other features (one note, languages etc)
    - All went well. When I tried to run Word it checked something (image?) and failed.
    - I ran setup.exe again and selected Repair.
    - Same thing. When I tried to run Word it checked something (image?) and failed.
    - I ran setup.exe again and selected Remove.

    - Now I try to reinstall running setup again and the fist screen opens for some seconds and it auto shuts down.
    - Tried a Recover to before install, same thing.
    - Under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features Office 2010 is still there but it's doesn't do anything (dead).

What to do to reinstall Office 2010?

If I was experiencing the same problem I would uninstall it completely and then re-install it!

Download and run Revo Uninstaller [FREE] from here => Revo Uninstaller. When you run scan for leftover items make sure that you use the Advanced Scan option, then tick everything and delete it.

    I hope this helps!

Megahertz07, are you running 3rd party AV AM AS programs? If so, try this test: deactivate all such 3rd party stuff and activate microsoft firewall, MSE or WD, shutdown, repower, test ms-office again.. I had the same symptoms on an earlier pc, had to fire ms-office, have been with libre and open office since then. I never found out why that happened.

    Thanks Roland. AV was disabled.
Revo Uninstaller did work, and I was able to install office 2010.
The strange is that the Office shortcuts don't work but winword.exe etc does, so I manually created the shortcuts.
Was having no Office updates. Found the solution:
With the registry editor open navigate to this location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General
    set ShownFirstRunOptin=0
It will set to open a choice when you fist run office app
Run Office app (example =word) and select to install updates
    run WU
    Now installing 72 Office updates.

Too late to see your post, yes, that is the fix.
Revo Uninstaller Pro is my choice, with key.
