adding new contact to outlook goes into the wrong list

I think it's outlook 2013, but theres no "about" or whatever. Anyways, if i open the address book i see all my contacts by default. Theres a drop down field above that says "contacts XXX@XXX.com". (XXX@XXX.com where my emil addy is) If i drop the box down i have another choice called "contacts (this computer only". What has been happening lately is when i add a new contact it goes into the this computer only list and i cannot find any way to put a new contact in the "contacts XXX@XXX.com" folder. I have tried adding a a new contact and it goes into that folder and give no option to select where it goews. I tried right clicking a addy from an email and choosing "add to outlook contacts" and it still goes there with no option to change where it goes. I have tried going to account and data files to set the defaul and that doesn't work.

It's been a long time since i added a contact, but i got all my 20 or 30 contacts in the proper folder before so i don't know what changed to cause this. There was another thing i tried which after hours or trying to figure this out i cannot remember what i did, but i chose the folder or file or whatever it is where all my contacts are, and when i tried to add to it, it said i could not add to this folder if thats any clue.

Any idea whats going on here?

Ok, i figured out how i can add a new contact. But i used to be able to right click an addy and choose "add to outlook contacts" and it would go into my main list. That still doesn't work, it still save to the "this computer only" list. Any way to change that?

Adding Contacts to Outlook is a problem & I have had the same problem, but if you select New Items from the Home page menu list, 2nd in from the left hand upper corner & then select New Contact from the drop down menu.

If you add a contact in other ways, they will be found in People, which you will find from the Menu down at the bottom left hand corner. There is Mail, Calendar, People & Tasks. Selecting People will show various contact lists, depending on how many email accounts you have.

I know, that's what i meant when i said i figured it out. But i still cabn't add them the same way i used to which is right click on a email address link and click "add to outlook contracts" It still goes to the wrong list and i can't find a way to set a default for that. 99% of the time that i add a contact i used to do it that way because it's just easier. I don't get why that changed at some point.
