Can't get rid of Outlook 2010, so I can load a new Microsoft Office 16

    Hello-
I am trying to load a new Microsoft Office 2016 to get out from under 365. They have been badgering me for a couple of years, and I have been trying to get them to tell me how to go to a fixed software package. Anyway, the day has come that they are turning off my 365 service.

I have been trying to follow instructions I got from the Ebay seller of the Microsoft office, and purge all Microsoft office I currently have. I did the uninstall for 2 office versions, and thought they were gone, but I am still seeing pieces of them in my directories. But that is not the whole problem. The one that is most vexing is trying to get rid of Outlook 2010 I have on my computer. It is just Outlook. I don't know how I got it, but I get nothing when I try to uninstall. It actually looks like the computer is trying to do a setup for it. I have let it go for long stretches of time in uninstall and it isn't working. I also tried the "change" button and "remove" to no avail.

I notices that there is no data in the field called size in Programs and Features (from Control panel). I tried to simply delete the file, but that didn't work either, because I could not find it. In Program Files (x86) I see a bunch of folders in the directory, including Office 14 and Office 16. The "size" is blank. When I open those folders I see relatively small files (4 of them) that look like trash, but I don't know.

I am going to try to load the new Office 16 software again. If it doesn't happen I will wait to see if y'all can help me.

    Thanks

You might run regedit.exe and go here-

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook

and delete it. There might also be a Outlook folder in \Office that you can delete.

    Reboot.

You might want to set a system restore point before doing so.

Has the copy of Office 2016 you purchased ever been used? If so, you may run into activation problems.

There are several uninstallers that will force uninstall a program. Wise Uninstaller is one.

Thanks for your responses. It's comforting that the two first ones were so similar. I am uncomfortable doing anything with the registries, so might try the Wise Uninstaller first.
    I appreciate y'all's help.
