Needless to say, I am running Windows 7 and I have disabled all updates, etc. I am also running MS Office Professional 2010 and it works fine. However, a couple of weeks ago, the ‘Save and Close’ button that used to appear in Outlook’s Calendar view (when creating a new event) has disappeared (and no updates were done). Not sure what this next comment is worth, but the appearance of the new event window seems different – almost as if its toolbar is missing.

I did some searching around and found this Outlook 2016 - "Save and Close" page (and others like it), but when I scrolled down to ‘Save and Close’ in the list of all commands, it isn’t there.

Any suggestions as to how to make the new appointments window appear as it used to?

Some more digging and yes, the tool bars are not visible. However, the tab tops for them are and when I click the label, the tool bar appears. So, what do I need to fix to make the toolbars appear all the time?

Never mind - just found the solution: Click the down arrow in the upper right corner of the window.
