    Problem with some hyperlinks in Microsoft Excel & Word - help please



    When I add hyperlinks in Excel or Word 2016, some of them cause a security warning dialog box to pop up -     Certificate error The application experienced an internal error loading the SSL libraries - see pics below.

    Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

    NB. It doesn't happen with all websites - for instance Google works fine, but Three | Phones, Broadband & SIM Only deals doesn't.

    Sometimes, if I close the above dialog box, I get another one like this:

    Any help appreciated.


    • Btw, I'm using Office Professional Plus 2016 Version 1611 (Build 7571.2109) - turning updates on or off makes no difference.
    • My OS is Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1.
    • Browser is Chrome Version 109.0.5414.120 (Official Build) (64-bit).


    I googled the error but couldn't find anything that worked.
