Hi there,

You might need to take permission to Outlook.pst file. Follow this article and just take ownership for Outlook.pst.

Note: Don't Take Ownership for any other files. Because missing permission can result in not booting the PC.

Help: I have tried Capt. jack's fixes and still can not get Outlook to open. I get a message saying Outlook Messenger can't open until Outlook is on line, well I don't want Messenger, can't get rid of it. Earlier I had a little success by resetting my password, was able to get all my Outlook 2007 email loaded into 2010 and had a little success in sending emails, then it shut down and I am back to square one. I also get a message the the server is disconnected!!!!. All I want is to get Outlook to work. I had this preloaded into my new computer. Any help would be appreciated

Capt. Jack is the real expert, but I wondered if you could try creating a new main profile through Control Panel | Mail.

If you use the guide below, just select the Office 2010 and your specific Operating System instructions:

How to create and configure an email profile in Outlook 2010, Outlook 2007, and Outlook 2003

Irene:

Thanks for the reply. I was able this morning to load a "new" profile go figure and was able to get Outlook to respond and at least right now it is working. Time will tell. Thanks again,
