    MS word processor ??

How do I get rid of headers & Footer. I want a continues record without pages breaks. I had it that way when I was running Winxp but now on Win 7 I can't get rid of the page breaks.

What specific application are you referring to?

    Word?

    Wordpad?

    If Word, what version?

Wordpad doesn't have page breaks, no headers or footers.

If you are referring to Office winword.exe depending on your version it will look like this in 2007 and 2010.

Try clicking on the header or footer in the document, this normally highlights it for editing or erasure...

It's been a couple years since I found the way to eliminate the page breaks from someone on another forum. It was a very simple procedure that I believe required only one step. I am using MS word processor Version 9. NOT Wordpad. It worked great on WinXP but my new computer and Win 7 I can't find what I did on WinXP to restore it to the no page condition.

I commented on your header and footer issue, but you've not mentioned whether this worked or not.

Regards page breaks you will automatically get them at the bottom edge of the paper size specified for the document. If you want to avoid this all I can suggest is to use a custom page specification where the page height is specified at a grossly exaggerated dimension (eg; A4 is about 210mm wide by 290mm high... but you could set it at 210mm wide and 29000mm high! That is... if the program parametres permit such a large integer - because in this example, and it is a theoretical suggestion, the document height would be equivalent to 100 A4 pages).

Sorry I didn't reply sooner but I have been busy.
No your suggestion didn't work. I know it is possible but the file I transferred from my old computer with win XP didn't have headers and footers but they appeared on w7. I searched here and another forum and there are lots of complains about trying to get headers and footers to appear but none how to get rid of them.

I've got Works v9 kicking around here... and here is a screenshot from it which shows you the maximum custom page length the program will permit (minus hacking registry entries to alter anything)...

The headers and footers in a document are accessible from the view menu and sub-selection header and footer option.

I have imported a document from an XP machine to a Windows7 machine and it didn't mysteriously add header or footer information not originally present... as you've said happened to you...
