    Outlook 2010 Problem

I am having problems downloading my mail for in Outlook 2010 for POP3 accounts and MAPI accounts through Outlook connector. Outlook starts downloading some messages and then stops and hangs and no additional messages are loaded for all accounts. In the send/receive progress it shows processing and nothing happens. When I force to close Outlook and restart it several times eventually it starts working again. I did a fresh install Windows 7 and Office 2010 Beta and cannot get it working. Can someone please help me?

One area to take a look at is your Anti-Virus which can interfer with mail transfers.

Your settings in outlook mail setup of course is set correctly for your ISP????

some mail programs require the full email address as the username, others only require your name.

    but check your av first..

Ive been using Outlook 2010 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to get mail from both my ISP and GMail without any problems whatsoever.

Is this a new problem that started happening recently, or has it always been this way for you with Outlook 2010?

Somewhere to start : double-check the POP3/IMAP and SMTP settings carefully.

    Rich,

It was a av problem. Thanks for your help. I'm using Avast Antivirus and a update of that program did cause the problem.
