Fall of 2009. How can they do that with no Beta by March?

Any links to proof it has been moved to 2010?

I think this might be a "Live Office" type of version -- perhaps no more downloading and installing but you have to connect to either a local server or the internet.

The "dreaded Per Seat" licensing might start to come into force for corporates at this time. If this happens there will be some sort of mechanism for Individual users as well -- might as well start to learn Open Office (Free Open Source and reasonably compatable).

MS is a bit concerned about how easy it is to find Enterprise or VLG licensed copies of Office that don't need activation on the torrents.

    Cheers

No, Office 14 is a real version, they just are going to do that live stuff at the same time or shortly there after.

And if they were worried about the torrents, they would have made office need activation several versions ago.

I say if they are going to include their own browser, media player, blah blah and so on, they should include their office applications in this day in age as well.... atleast a simple .doc or docx reader/writer/converter.... a watered down excel... and hold onto access with VS .net and the likes... or what the hey, include that as well as optional or .... maybe "Ultimate".... now that would truly be an "Ultimate" version candidate.... would support the prices as well

They talked about that before actually... having Windows Ultimate include Office Ultimate ... but the price tag was too high, the idea never became more than just an idea.
