I think you mean .doc document, not doc. document, right?

Are you opening it from Explorer, or from within Word?

Have you tried opening another .doc file?

Try creating a new document, save it as .doc, close it, and open it again.
    Report if that works.

    Good luck

yesterday, i try to use internet explorer to open my .doc document but it's still cannot works..
Then, i try to use another program to open my .doc document, such like adobe reader, notepad and wordpad.
Fortunate, notepad and wordpad can open .doc document, unfortunate, they cannot encode the entire article.
So, do u have any idea about it?

    Hi Tester,

I provided a test for you to do in my previous post.

From your reply I understand you didn't try that.

    Please try it.

    Greetings,

If you can't get it to work, you could get AbiWord or OpenOffice (both free).
If you don't want to install anything, you could use google docs.

Tester, you are experiencing APPCRASH! This is a known issue with earlier OS 7 releases.
You have installed Office 2007. You have attempted to either download a doc file online or a template and the file "NORMAL.DOC" has corrupted.
There are a few workarounds but it won't resolve the issue.
One work around that works consistently is to run winword.exe in cmd line like this:\winword.exe \a
give emphasis to the space after exe, the command line uses \a to remove any plug ins.
Another workaround is to use the search function and search for the doc file named normal and delete it. This brings word back temporarily but it will eventually fail.
Another is to use your office disk and run repair.
As I have stated, this issue is known in earlier releases of Windows 7 RC-1 etc.

    Regards,
    Adrian

    Hi toningzki,

    Welcome to 7 Forums.

I had this warning with Outlook 2007 a couple times. Only thing that fixed it was a complete re-install of Office. Repair install and just uninstall and re-install Outlook did not work. When I finished reinstalling all settings where in place except the jumplists, so it wasn't tooo painful.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks sir Gary.

How come I never thought of that? Gonna try it right away when I get home. Be posting my feedback later.

    UPDATE:
Just this moment, i just did what u suggested - repaired or otherwise, re-installed the MS Office 2007. During re-installation, i don't see anything wrong about it. but when i test it, again, there goes that error message. just found out during repair, that an error has been occurring during the last parts of repair. There's something wrong with the installer's bootstapper or something. do u think i should get a new installer?
