Need Excel program for club treasury

I'm not very swift at Excel (and it's been years since I used Lotus 123) and I need a format to keep the treasury "book" for a club. I have Office 2003 and Open Office.

I checked the MS Office downloads, the Open Office downloads and a google search and didn't come up with anything useable.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the question is.

You have Excel. What do you need that you don't have?

You say "format". What does that mean in this context?

Excel is generally completely customizable by the user through setting up columns, tabs, formulas, etc.

Maybe you need a separate bookkeeping type program. If so, I assume free ones are out there, but I am not familiar with them.

    Edit:

    Maybe you mean Excel template?

I just googled "Excel Bookkeeping Template" and got lots of hits. Here are a few of them.

I only need one template for either Excel 2003 or Open Office, but Open Office will work with Excel 2003 templates.

I looked at what I could find doing a google and didn't find anything that would work for a fairly simple application. I'm probably going to have to dig in and read the Help file and make one myself.

Generally speaking, there may be a template out there that is close to what you wnat
Finding it won't be easy.... Generally you are better off starting from scratch.

Maybe this one will help? not sure.

or here is the Microsoft Excel Template site

    Hi Firebird,

The hard thing here is to find out exactly what you need to record.
Off the top of my head, you may need to consider:
    • Financial Balance Sheet
    • Profit and loss (revenue and expenses)
    • Request for Finance list
    • Petty Cash usage
    • Membership paid / due / owe /type
    • Lost Members
    • Assets and depreciation
    • Bank and Trust account reconciliation
    • Seperate balance sheets for months and End of Financial Year
    • Sponsorships

I've attached a couple of sheets (apologies, as I've lost the original source of the files).
Let us know what information is required and I'm sure we'll see what we can dig up

Thanks, those two may be able to work or make them work. I don't need much, "current funds on hand", "Funds received" and then then the total updated. Expenses and be able to list what the expense was and have that change the total. Very basic.

The club we have is a small unincorporated (no dues) Steel Guitar Club (musicians). I just need to be able to track and update funds from either a 50/50 or selling some club items and any expenditures. I've been doing it manually but it really needs to be on Excel.
