    SQL 2008 not loading

Is SQL 2008 supported on Win7. I just downloaded it and tried to install, but it continues to get hung up on the reboot of system failure. I even installed the latest SP1 version update to no avail. Any advice on that? Or where else to go for help?

    SQL 2008 fails to instal

It hangs up right at the prerequisite install. Keeps giving an X on the system reboot. And, yes... I installed the SP1 for my system (WIN7 x64). Included the screen shots. Hope you can help me with this.

Obviously Billy boy doesn't believe in good support from the company's view point

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Lets try these steps !!
    1. Start regedit.exe
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
    3. Locate PendingFileRenameOperations
    4. Remove any data associated with the value
    5. Then try to install and see whether that works
    6. If that fails
    7. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Session Manager
    8. Locate PendingFileRenameOperations
    9. Remove any data associated with the value
    10. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Session Manager
    11. Locate PendingFileRenameOperations
    12. Remove any data associated with the value
    13. Without Rebooting Install it
    Hope this helps,
    Captain
