Where are the .pst files in 2000 ?

My old XP computer is dying, so I bought a new computer with Win 7 Pro. I installed my Office 2000 on it. I copied my Outlook .pst files from my old computer to a flash drive.

On my Win 7 computer the directory structure is different, so I can't figure out where to put the .pst files that I must preserve.

Please tell me the path where they should go.

I tried searching for the .pst files on the new computer to no avail. The seach UI is so radically different I haven't been able to figure out how to use it effectively.

welcome to 7 forum.
actually, you can copy to any directory in your HD.
you only need to set your pst, when you add it to your outlook.
If you use outlook 2k3 you can follow this step :
- Go to "tools" > "email's account"
- Add/view email account
- Add pst file and point to the location which you copy before
I thought it's not too different on 2k, just try ...

You can follow this steps :

1. In the Folders’ Navigation Pane, right-click "Personal Folders" or the name that appears for your .PST file, and then click on the "Properties" in the context menu. Note: This folder will always be a top-level folder in the Navigation Pane, in Mail.
2. Click "Advanced".
3. In the Filename text box, the complete path and file name of the .PST file will be shown.

Thanks, folks. You all really helped. I found the place and replaced the pst files with the ones from the old system. Now I can see my old e-mail.

Here's another question. Starting up I get: Uknown error 0xA30411D. An error occurred while attempting to open the Windows Address Book. Unable to find the WAB DLL.

Is this something new with Win 7? I didn't have this problem on my XP machine.
