    outlook error with kaspersky

I have kaspersky running as my antivirus and also set to scan emails for spam etc.
The problem is after a couple days of learning the spam, outlook all of a sudden says unable to move message spam folder cannot be found, outlook needs to shutdown. Open outlook and cant find spam folder at all it gets deleted somehow.
When I turn off antivirus all is good, but the spam gets through- obviously have to manually delete it.. When I uninstall kaspersky reboot and reinstall all is good for the 1st few days and then boom sh%@s the bed. I dont want to go back to symantec endpoint.

Wondering if this may be a windows7 thing or a kaspersky or outlook problem. Seeing if anyone else has ran into this same problem or has this setup and does not have problem. either way I'd like to know - thanks

    Hello t41,

First thing to try is stopping the email scanning. It is totally unnecessary as the resident scanner will still catch viruses when/if the email or attachment is opened. If turning off the AV makes everything work, then it is obviously where the problem lies. I have never used kaspersky, so don't know much about it. Maybe some here who have experience with it can add more info.

    Hope this helps.

I thought that Kaspersky for Windows 7 was merely a "technical preview" - in other words beta?

I would switch to the tried and true - Avast Free.

i need to run a email scanner to catch the spam before it hits my email client as since my IT guy removed symantec mail security,"F#%N' idiot", i have been getting in access of 200 spams a day. Don't have symantec anymore so cant reinstall it on my server. Looking for other software that works same way.
If i leave it alone than i will have to manually remove all these bad emails.

Going to try - avast pro and see what happens. Or GFI mail security

thanks - will post results for others

update - i installed Anti-spam filter for Exchange Server and Lotus Notes GFI mail essentials anti-spam filter and it works great. Blocks all spam and will get better as it learns. Outlook works great as well.
Could not install avast on server - said cant install to nt server - so i reinstalled symantec endpoint as my antivirus software - all is good so far.
