    whats the main difference for average user between MS office 2003 and 2007 beside from a redesign Interface

    Actually not much. Unless you need some new feature that is included in the 2007 or 2010 versions there is not reason to upgrade. MS has a doc converter program so older versions of Office can open files created with the newer file extension, .zzzX.
