MS Word keeps invoking "Configuration Process"

Word keeps re-configuring itself every time I open it. How can I get rid of this procedure?

    Thanks, Noels

    Hello Noels Welcome to SF,

I belive it might be a bad install (or) not all the compenents are installed to the Local hard drive. Try to do a Office Diagnostic if that fails then I would suggested to remove your MS Office. Then when you reinstall it make sure to do the custom install and select an option to install all the components to Local Hard drive.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks Capt. Jack. It seems to me there was some installation file that's responsible for this 'cause I had it happen a couple of years ago on another installation, but I just don't remember the file that does it.... If I can't find out, I will try a re-install, but I'd like to be able to avoid that

In any case, thanks much for your advice and help, Noel

You might try the following: In Word Options > Resources there is "run Microsoft office diagnostics". Maybe that can fix it.

    whs,

Sorry to be so late responding, had to re-install my Windows 7 and programs, etc. Word and Excel still doing the reconfigure thing, the diagnosis didn't help, but thanks for the suggestion.
