Fix for Office 2010 beta file associations

    Note:

After installing the latest security updates on two Windows 7 machines the file associations for Office 2010 beta reverted back to Office 2003 (which is also installed). In order to fix this (since I prefer that the Office 2010 apps be the default) I ran the "change/repair" option from Programs & Features in the Control Panel.

You can also go into "default programs" and change them in that dialog. Its less time consuming than a repair install.

    .
Actually I tried that first. The Office beta apps are not listed in the default programs section of my Windows 7 x64 install. Is it in yours? The repair didn't take long and the nice thing about it is it's completely automatic.

Interesting, they show up on my 32bit laptop. But not the 64bit desktop. Do you have 64bit office installed, I do.

I have 64 bit Office beta on my 64 bit desktop and 32 bit office beta on my 32 bit laptop. The apps are not listed in both cases.
