    Technet Advice

I have seen several people mention technet subscriptions. I see where a standard technet subscription is $199. Can I download any version of Office 2010 or Windows 7 with that subscription? I am not clear on the advantages of technet as yet. Any advice from those of you that have it? Thanks

As stated above you can download both those and a lot more operating systems and server software in fact you can get 10 copies of each, but it must be for your use only.
Not bad for $199 is it.

FYI: Please note that Microsoft has been getting smarter about this. I have had several friends try and get a TechNET subscription recently and they were denied the purchase because Microsoft could not verify they were associated with a company or that the person purchasing had anything to do with being a Technician, Administrator, or associated with IT in some form. Noted that these people are NOT in any fashion or form IT people they are just end users and home users so Microsoft is absolutely correct. - WS

So I have to try to convince them I am an IT person or something like that?

I did not have any problems in Australia, but may be different for the USA.
They ask for; company/organization and I just typed in "none" and was not asked for any more information re employment.
Give it a try you have nothing to loose but a lot to gain.

I just signed up for the $199 standard subscription and have already downloaded Office 2010 Professional. I have already saved money so well worth the subscription. I was not asked to verify anything and I left the business company name box blank. Thanks to everyone for the info.
