Any thought on how, in Outlook 2010, to attaching a Contact to an Appointment??? We used to be able to do that in 2003.

I also find this frustrating that I can't edit an e-mail address typed in any of the address fields (To:, Cc:, or Bcc:).
Not sure if you noticed, but it's worse than that. You can't even edit the e-mail address in a contact! I assume both use the same code object/method, which does not allow editing.
The only way to make any edit to the e-mail address is to delete and retype the entire address. WHY?!
Definitely a step backwards.

I figured this out. But I want to punch out whoever took away the functional idea of editing a #$&^$^ email address in a program meant for emailing people.
Hover over the email address in their contact card. The smaller new 2010 'contact card' will appear. There is a little symbol in the upper right-ish corner that looks like a list written on piece of paper. When you hover over it it says 'View more options for interacting with this person'. Click on 'Outlook Properties' and the 'Email Properties' box will come up where you can edit the name and email address.
As a super annoying note, if you hover over their email address in an email or a group distribution list, the same little 'contact card' will appear, but when you click on 'Outlook Properties' it just opens the large contact card and you have to do the same steps over again.
And if your contact is part of a group, even when you say 'Update now', the displayed email does not change, although if you double click on it to send an email the updated email is used.
I seem to get 'lost members' a lot and then Outlook 'repairs' them, I am wondering if this is why the lists aren't updating properly. Does anyone know why this happens??
For some reason, when I do what is described in this thread, it brings up a full contact screen, where I can again not edit the errant email address character by character.
However, this works for me:
1. Hover over the email address in error. This brings up the contact card. The top line shows the email name. The second line shows the email address entered. If you have only entered an email address, both lines will have the same content.
2. Right click on the email address.
3. Click on Copy (or Copy Name if you right-clicked on the name field).
4. Go back to the Outlook email panel and click on the incorrect email address.
5. Hit Delete or Backspace to delete it.
6. Hit Ctrl-V (or right-click and click Paste) to paste an editable version of the email address.
