Rearming MS Office 2010
Hey guys. So I've been having troubles with attempting to rearm MS Office 2010. There are lots of ways to do it floating around the internet, but for me, none of them work. This in particular (How to Rearm Microsoft Office 2010 to Extend Activation) did not work for me because i did not have "OSPPRUN.exe". So after reading through several pages of google i found the following site:
How To Use Microsoft Office 2010 Free For 6 Months Without Activation | Free Downloads, Software Reviews, Security Solutions, Troubleshootings and Tips and Tricks
I didn't follow it exactly, but this worked for me and i have now rearmed my trial version for another 30 days.
This is what I did:
1) Open services.msc through start menu and stop the service "Office Software Protection Platform"
2) Open the following file location "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform". You should find an application called "OSPPREARM"
3) Right click on it and select "Run as Administrator". A command prompt should appear for just a second; it should close immediately after starting.
4) Open your MS Office 2010 and it should be rearmed.
I apologize ahead of time if this does not work for everyone. I am not a tech guy so what i did could have easily just been a fluke.
