    Urgent help needed with pictures!

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and Windows 7, thus any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

My friend sent me these pictures that she claims to have edited on photoshop and a number of them are in black and white. However, when these black and white pictures appear as thumbnails they are in color.

I would very much like to see the pictures in color but when I open them they appear in black and white, like I said. I'm not sure what I should do so that i can see them in color, would anyone happen to have a suggestion for me??

Sounds like an effect was added in Photoshop. Do you have Photoshop? Have you tried asking the person to send you the original copies of the pictures?

No, I don't have photoshop but do you think it might be worth my while downloading it and trying 2 re-do whatever was done by the person??

I've tried asking her but she doesnt seem to think that those pictures look good in color, which isn't the case at all...

It's up to you whether you think its worth it or not. I haven't used Photoshop in a long time, so I'm not sure how to remove the B&W filter (or whatever its called now). Personally, I would keep pestering her about letting you see the originals, but that is also up to you.

    Lool, Thanks

I think I'll try both your ideas. So you think it's purely because of photoshop? Not a Windows 7 effect? Because this never happened on Vista or XP.

If they are jpg, whatever effect was used cannot be undone, as the file was flattened. I've noticed this with Paint.NET. When you edit a photo, the thumbnail looks like an untouched version, but when you view the photo you see the edits made to it. It's really annoying.

Photoshop is very expensive to purchase, you can't "just" download it.

They have free trials of some versions of Photoshop. IIRC, they last 30-days.
