    Channel 4 on demand

I'm running Win7RC on a new DELL Lattitude E6400. ive installed Channel 4 on Demand (4oD) but when i go to download something it tells me to install windows media player 10 or above, it dosent seem to recognise WMP12 being installed. as WMP12 is bundled i cannot downgrade. I cannot find anyone with the same problem elsewhere, any ideas?

Im guessing its version checking isnt thorough in that it only checks for versions up to 11. Ive tried installing it myself and get the same.

Only thing I can suggest is contact Channel 4 themselves to make them aware of the protential issue with the new version of WMP. They might already be working on it, you never know.

Just been on the 4oD help site and found this:
    Channel 4 FAQs
i have discovered a workaround though that i am downloading now... using the windows xp virtual pc and playing it off there. hopefuly it will prevent the need to reboot to watch 4oD.

Nice idea! Let us know how you get on with that method. This is just the sort of thing that XPM was created for, not for games or such.

it seems to be working, i am in the process of downloading a program after upgrading media player IE and installing an antivirus (not sure how necessary it is but better safe than sorry). i assume it will play once downloaded. just hope Channel 4 catch up soon (forgive the pun) it is a bit of a hassle.

It's not working. the video is really jerky and out of sync with the sound. unless anybody has a fix for that- (i.e. playing the downloaded 4oD videos through Windows 7?)
for the moment it looks like i will have to return to Vista when i want to watch 4oD.
