Is there seriously no way to stop Pictures from loading in WMP?

I use WMP for music and videos only, but there just HAS to be the Pictures tab as well that loads my entire Pictures library - I do not want this. No matter what I do it always has to reload all my pictures in that tab, which ends up freezing WMP.

How about this, Click Organize, Manage Libraries, Pictures and remove those locations.

You'll just have to access your pictures under your user name, instead of in Libraries.

That would work, but it does kinda make it a b-tch to access your pictures and when saving navigate to that folder you know? Honestly, I don't need a single thing stored in WMP - I've got all my stuff in my folders, so I don't need it updating in WMP. If there was a way to just shut off the entire library feature completely in WMP that'd be exactly what I'd want.

The Libraries are connected and just point to the original location of the files, I can't think of any other way except to remove those locations from libraries and go through your user folders to access them, Sorry, not much of a fix.

You would think there would be some sort of behind the rig option of stopping WMP from reading Library's.

You can't stop WMP from reading Windows Libraries; you can, however, hide them

In WMP, just to go Organize -> Customize navigation pane. When a new window opens, uncheck "Pictures".
WMP will still load them, I believe, but at least you won't have to be bugged by even seeing it in WMP, and this way you can still use the Library feature in Windows.

That's the best way to do it, right there. + rep for you.

Have just read this thread and notice that by hiding the pitures library in WMPP you do just that. The pictures still loa up but you can't see them. The problem the OP had was quote: No matter what I do it always has to reload all my pictures in that tab, which ends up freezing WMP.
I wonder if that is still the case?

    I doubt it.

By hiding the library in WMP, you're not able to trigger it from loading, i.e. displaying all the pics in its Library, regardless of whether the player actually still updates it or not.
