    Explorer for burning mp3 discs..rename easily ?

Hi. Every mp3 disc I've made gets me struggling. I'd like them to play in artist order yet..

I'd have to make copies of all the .mp3s and rename em in some numerical order. Most of em just start with "00" "05" "12" and such.

I look in the "to burn" window when I'd drag em in and they appear faded. Can I rename those and it would leave the original source filename alone ?

When I go track after track jamming to a mp3 disc it's really frustrating to have random artists play randomly..

Just hoping for it to be easier..I'm only on 2 gigs of RAM and my HD space is getting too low for comfort.

the title shouldnt matter if you are playing them with a media player, you should be able to sort by artist if you have them tagged. i have a folder or weird named mp3s from an ipod (like d4fg.mp3), but in wmp they are all correct and i can choose genre or artist or album or year etc. and play them how i choose.

    Ohk. I use Winamp.

I have folders with the Artist's name. Then Album inside. All my .mp3 are numerically ordered. The majority, yes.

That's why I wanted to see if I could use the Explorer window just to rename them, to be named that 0N DISC, rather than change them up in my HD. Not to playback on HD..I want em to be ordered as I'd like on a MP3 CD. Not sure if I understood your reply clearly..hm

Off topic lil thing to add. I've ALWAYS hated on the chewed up Apple. iPod is all I would like to figure out to list out exactly as in my HD. Shuffle play on and off perhaps. But then I'd need a player in the car with the iPod port or whatever to plug it in and play. Thanks much, sorry I was misleading before.
