Windows DVD Maker Problem - Same video on screen twice!

So after burning a disc using Windows DVD Maker, I played it. The menu is fine but when you click play the same video is on the screen twice like split screen. When previewing this on the DVD maker its fine, it only happens after burning!

I burned two discs one in 4:3 and one in 16:9 but they both had the same problem!

Ive searched around for this particular problem but couldn't find anything. What can I do?

HI amitch 1993 and welcome to the Forum.
First apologies for not replying sooner, I missed this topic altogether and it is very unusual on our Forum for anyone not to get a response much quicker than you have, especially as this is your first post.
Lets see if we can help!
First please post details of the original clip or clips that you used for this video. Where were they from, a camcorder, taken from the TV, from a commercial DVD? Could you also give he properties like pixel size, aspect ratio etc of the original clips. Plese give details of exacly what you did as far as editing was concened before the burn process and what editing software did you use. As much info as possible please

    Hey :)
    Thanks, thats alright!
The clips were taken from a HD webcam that I have in 1280x720 resolution. They're basically just normal widescreen videos of me that I use for youtube, but was trying to get them on a disc for a friend.
I used Windows Live Movie Maker originally when making them (Its easy to upload to youtube), I actually saved them as WMV files ages ago. Then when I've put it into windows DVD maker, I get this problem.
Its strange because i've looked through all the setting but there doesn't seem to be any problem there?

The 1280 x 720 indicates that this might beAVCHD_Lite format and various problems have arisen with it in the past. Win DVD Maker does no support HD so I guess that is where the problem arises. What format were the original clips? When you say you saved them as wmv files did you convert them with a video converter because what you need for standard DVD is 720 x 576 pixels. You can burn the 1280 x 720 size to a standard DVD but you will need a Blu-Ray player or PS3 console to play it. Anyway that's a whole new ball game!
You can upload 1280 x 720 files to You Tube, indeed that is their recommended format for HD but they, at You Tube, render the files again to their fomat. When you let me know what the original clips were I can recommend a free converter so they will make a standard DVD on Win DVD maker.
Just in case we need it have you access to a host so that you could upload a clip for me to download or better still do you use Team Viewer? I could then try various ideas this end!
Final point I see your time zone looks like the UK but please confirm as the UK is PAL, others might be NTSC and we need to get that right!

Ohhh ok, thats does make sense!
The raw webcam footage is in WMV as well. I didn't convert them in a converter, it didn't occur to me actually!
I don't have access to a host no, nor do I use Team Viewer.
But thanks for the advice anyway!

Well if you need a very good free video conveter try Super download it here:
    SUPER &copy
Make sure you scroll down to the Super download and don't accidently download AVS converter. That's very good but it is an advert and you have to pay for it otherwise you get a watermark through your clips!
Any more help with this just start a new thread and perhaps you won't have to wait so long for a response
