Duplicate files hunt and destroy

I have a LOT of music. For some reason, iTunes (the only player I've ever used) feels the need to create duplicates of files whenever I change computers or iTunes overrides my automatic update disable. As you might imagine, I have quite a few repeated files taking up 3-6MB a piece that I want to get rid of. iTunes shows duplicates, and the number is well over a thousand.

For some reason now, there is no option to "delete from library and my computer" anymore, so it is exceedingly difficult to hunt down over a thousand files and delete them by hand.

So I guess my question is, does anyone know of a program that might detect these duplicates on my hard drive so I can cram them in the trash?

Try these, but as with anything of this kind, dont delete indiscriminately without looking.

I have to spread some more rep around before I can hit you up again. I'm not sure why I couldn't find those on google. Thanks a million!

this is going to sound somewhat hard....
Download Everything
It is a tool that shows every file on the machine...
PS. Itunes likes to recreate files in there own format so that may be why its not finding them
(At my apartment we have a central media backup server and my Room Mates machine did that, I had to sneak onto his account and change his itunes settings so it didn't.)

Thank you for these recommendations, unfortunately they are no longer free.
For audio files I am using Duplicate Songs Finder - I think it will be more useful for LiquidSnak as it analyzes audio content and can find similar songs regardless of the file format. It is not free too, but it is cheap. The same company also provides a FREE tool that can find exact duplicates.
