Preview pane for .flv files in Windows 7

Does anyone know how to hack the registry in Windows 7 to allow media player preview for .flv files. There is a program called previewconfig for vista that is supposed to do it for you, but it doesn't work in Windows 7. Anyone have an answer?

RE:FLV in preview panes

Well I can't really resolve your issue with flv files. Believe me I tried. I was unable to get .divx, .flv, .mkv, and .mov files to preview correctly. I had luck with all other file types using some registry editing. See my post below

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

If any of you are using the Shark007 Win7codecs, the next release will enable a fully functional preview pane supporting FF/RW and subtitles for all newly enabled filetypes like FLV, MKV, FLAC audio, and even MOV files since the Operating System doesnt enable MOV previews on its own either.

I'm suprised the preview pane won't rely on the codec to allow you to view the file, thats how it works in OS X. It must not use Windows Media Player to preview video files. I guess you'll have to wait for Shark's codec if that works.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

The new release of my software that enables the Preview pane for all newly enabled filetypes (enabled by installing the Shark007 codecs) is currently available as v2.4.8

To enable the new functionality, either choose to use the suggested settings or choose to associate filetypes to the Windows players on the Help TAB.
