    Youtube Song Copyright Question

    Hey,
I was wondering if i could buy a song off of iTunes and then put it as the background of a slideshow and then upload it to Youtube. Ive heard that buying a song of of iTunes only gives you the personal licence to use it, and it is breaking Youtube code of conduct.
If so then how do i get the permission to use it?

    -Thankyou

You would have to obtain it from youtube.

The song purchase is for personal use. You aren't violating copyright using it for non-profit purposes, but youtube doesn't like it anyway.

Unfortunately not. You could email them, but I doubt they care about actual copyright laws.

...so lets take down 98% of youtube videos, because they all have some funky song going on in the background of a clip of some kid doing a triple somersault 180 kickflip off a park bench.

Upload it anyway, the worst that can happen is Youtube will remove it.

They get removed if the owner requests. I have actually seen some legitimate artist youtube channels removed because the record company said remove it.
