    hey fliplip

    Since its just webcam vids that are rotated Im thinking its a setting somewhere or a funky driver for it. Have you tried their support. there is tons of info abt webcam problems here ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-.

    Sorry I couldn't be more helpful

    I'm not 100% sure but installing Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs might help. I've had issues before with Video playback being upside down & installing codecs fixed that issue.

    Just a thought

    well, i installed that avs converter, and sad to say, it didn't fix the problem. but thanks for the link anyway. it'll come in handy. on that page, are there two apps to download? the avs converter, and a 32-bit settings application? it sounded as if the settings applicatino was in the avs converter, no? that page kinda left me hanging on to what it was about. it's like you talk about settings application throughout the page, but you then provide 2 links to avs converter without saying a word about that app. please enlighten me.

    and thanks again. like i said, i'm sure it'll come in handy some day. i still have my camcorder to play video with.

    Well it seems like this kind of problem has been around for quite some time. Only i can say it make sure your video drivers and webcamera drivers are up to date. You may also want to download a codec pack, CCCP Codecs, Klite Codecs, or FFDShow Tryouts Codecs. Another thing you can do is open the video in Movie Maker and under effects, rotate the video to its normal position.

    upside down camera problem solved

    I have asus eee pc 1000HE netbook and its camera is perfect under windows 7 rc 32 bit, but on my main laptop which is asus n50vn-b1b which has windows 7 rc 64 bit webcam is upside down, I did have 32 bit windows 7 rc but camera was still upside down.
    After reading several forums including asus, I realized now that in some machines camera is installed upside down and in some it is right orientated and reason is beyond me, may be space and design considerations. In machine where webcam is upside down oriented, camera drive flips the image.
    Now to fix it we have to know what is pid of the camera and download the correct driver, so go to this address and follow what is suggested.

    ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

    After driver download unzip or unrar it and run setup and than restart the computer, and it will be correctly oriented.
    Mine was chicony==> 04F2.
    Asus had 64 bit driver for it.

    Where do I find the Chicony driver on Asus support website?
