Just to confirm, same problem here and switching to the legacy driver has cured it.

    Hey Rob!

I have to say I've been perplexed with this problem for months now. As a new Public Access TV producer, often I don't even know who to ask for assistance or even how to best describe the problem. I didn't even know that my capture problem was due to a Windows 7 issue! After I was able to capture video on my Vista laptop, I began to realize what the problem was. However, it still wasn't until I installed a few more capture programs and read those error prompts that it led me here. Your response has saved me time and money. Thanks again!

Hi, I had the same problem. I then updated my IEEE OHCI device driver to the legace version, instead of the installed Texas Instruments version. Choose manual and "let me pick", then you will probably see 3 different drivers. Choose the lagacy version. (1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Lagacy))
    After that I could capture.
    cheers,
    Rob

    Rob you are the man
    Thanks Dain

I'm using a 3-port firewire card in my PC. None of the 3 programs that I have installed were recognizing my Panasonic camcorder. BUT, I just figured out that while my Win 7 system will NOT recognize my camera when it is the only thing plugged into my 1394 card, it DOES recognize it when there is something else running through the 1394 card. I actually daisy-chained the camera to a 2nd port on the back of an external, firewire disk drive. The drive need to be running.

Not sure if that will help anyone else or not.
