Win Tv 7 recording format is way too big? Need help plz!

    Hi Guys,
I used to record all the time with my Win Tv (HVR 2250) and for example, a one hour show recorded was about 600 Mb and lately, I don't know what I've done but when I record a one hour show, it takes aroung 2.8 Gb on my hard drive and it's driving me insane because I thought by selecting convert Mpeg 2 to Mpg and deleting the original file after conversion would solve the problem but it didn't. Does anybody know a solution for this? Like I said earlier, it used to shrink the recorded files for me but not anymore, don't know why!

    Thanks in advance,

    Yannik

I think you might have to lower the quality of the recording because it might have been adjusted to the highest quality. I use Windows Media Center and whenever I record with it, I have the option to choose the lowest quality recording which takes up the least space. Check this link:

    Hi,
I have an option for the quality but unfortunatly, it doesn't shrink the file size enough so for now, I have to convert with another application which kind of sucks! It's frustrating because it used to convert it automatically after recording a show but I don't what I did to cause it to malfunction?

    Any other thought?
